US young star Coco Gauff will play at the bett1open
She is just 18 years young, but in the tennis world all eyes are on her: Coco Gauff. Since she qualified for Wimbledon in 2015 as the youngest player of the Open Era, at the age of 15 years and 106 days, the US-teenager has been one of the most fascinating athletes worldwide. Not just because she is expected to win big and triumph big, but also because she already has a big personality that sees far beyond the confines of sport.
Now she has confirmed her participation at the bett1open. At the WTA tournament on the spectacularly beautiful grounds of the LTTC "Rot-Weiß" e.V. in Berlin, the best players in the world will compete against each other. From June 11th – 19th, the tournament will not only be about winning the tournament and valuable world ranking points, but also about a total prize money of 823,000 US dollars.
Naomi Osaka and Andrea Petkovic have also already confirmed their participation. World-Class Tennis is guaranteed. However, the bett1open do not only serve as a great tennis tournament, but also as a platform to make the world a better place during these difficult times. This aligns with Coco Gauff’s wishes: “I am really looking forward to my participation at the bett1open in Berlin.” And she hopes that she can inspire the youth with her game and attitude:
“I think it is always important to give back and use your platform to do good. As a public figure, I have a responsibility to be a role model, to set an example for young girls like me who wish to dream big.” This makes it all the more fitting that the bett1open have decided to support the Berlin Charity “PxP Embassy” this year.
