Rybakina revealed: “My Wimbledon trophy is with mom and dad”

A lot has changed for Elena Rybakina since her Wimbledon victory last year - incidentally against Ons Jabeur, the defending champion at the bett1open presented by ecotrans Group. In her native Kazakhstan, she is now a celebrity, inspiration and role model in equal measure. "It's nice that more kids in Kazakhstan want to play tennis now," she said after reaching the round of 16. In two sets, Rybakina, seeded second here in Berlin, had defeated qualifier Polina Kudermetova 6-4, 6-2. Afterwards, she also revealed where her Wimbledon trophy is: "With my parents."
