No gold medal in the child’s room for Azarenka's son Leo

It suddenly became very private - and you felt like you were in the Azarenkas' living room and children's room. What had happened?

It was 3:1 and 15:15 in the first set of the first quarter-final for the former world number one Victoria Azarenka in her match with Elena Rybakina. Suddenly, Rybakina broke and had to leave the court very quickly. Extreme abdominal pain forced her to retire. But tennis continued to be played in the Steffi Graf Stadium. Certainly not quite at world-class level, but it was world-class entertainment nonetheless!

Azarenka and her seven-year-old son Leo spontaneously played a small mixed doubles match against two spectators! The audience was thrilled. And afterwards, mom Victoria, the gold medal winner in mixed doubles at the 2012 Olympic Games, revealed: "Leo would like my gold medal to hang in his room." But he doesn't get his wish. Victoria Azarenka explains: "I think you should win your own trophies." The one in Berlin is still two victories away for her.
