Angelique Kerber: "I'm close, but I need to be braver!"
She had promised: "I'll leave my heart on the court." And she kept her word. Angelique Kerber was in strong form in her duel with Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic, but she still lost 6:7, 6:2 and 4:6. She nevertheless received well-deserved and thunderous applause from the magnificently filled stands in the Steffi Graf Stadium. "The match showed me that I can still keep up. I am close. Maybe I need to be even braver," she said, analyzing her courageous performance. After her elimination here in Berlin, she moves on to her own tournament in Bad Homburg. And, of course, she will compete at Wimbledon, where she triumphed in 2018.
